Located on the Larvotto peninsula, Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort is a seafront luxury hotel surrounded by tropical gardens, on the iconic Avenue Princesse Grace in Monte Carlo.
The hotel offers its guests four restaurants, a casino, a 900-m² spa and a tropical lagoon with waterfalls and Jacuzzis.
KE’s PMO Dept. – in charge of major tailor-made projects, both for private customers and for the contract sector – was contacted by the Monegasque contractor CO.VI.REN to define the fittest solution to shelter the wide panoramic terrace of Las Brisas summer restaurant, located on the main building’s ground floor. A terrace dedicated to those guests who want to taste Chef Marcel Ravin’s fusion cuisine, inspired by Caribbean flavours.
The Kheope sail, belonging to KE Sails range, was the chosen product: manufactured with innovative materials inspired by the nautical world, it is much appreciated for its light, graceful lines – they are perfect for a maritime setting such as Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort.
The owners needed to create an elegant space inspired by the tropical gardens surrounding the resort – a cosy area for Las Brisas restaurant’s guests, to protect them from sun and bad weather.
Following these requirements, KE’s Technical Dept. designed special, tailor-made poles to which different elements can be anchored at different heights, such as the boom fastening or the sail loop system; this overlapping effect contributes in creating a suggestive, evocative atmosphere.
The 10 Kheope sails, customised with double-section special poles, have a peculiar tree-like structure. The cloth is a resin-coated, sand-coloured Tempotest Starlight to obtain a greater protection from solar rays.
These motorised sails work independently one from another: in fact, they can be opened or closed separately, ensuring maximum functionality in the management of the panoramic terrace.
