Sunset Beach Club is a beach establishment surrounded by Costa Viola’s wild nature in Tonnara, on Palmi seafront, an ancient town of Greek origin in the province of Reggio Calabria. This place is named after the numerous palm trees that create the natural habitat of the area, together with centuries-old olive trees.

Nestled as a jewel among the rocks, Palmi can boast a breathtaking natural setting: in fact, this little town is situated at the foot of one of the most evocative places in Calabria, mount Sant’Elia. From this upland, thanks to its ledges and panoramic viewpoints overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea, it is possible to enjoy a stunning view on the Aeolian Islands and on Sicily.

The terrace on the front part of Sunset Beach Club’s café/restaurant was previously featuring a structure in glued laminated timber – which gave shelter through cloths fixed on the structure itself.

The three young business partners of Sunset Beach Club, in cooperation with the architects, chose Gennius VEGA as the right solution – appreciated for its captivating design – to shelter a large area while respecting the modern lines of the building.

The customers needed to shade the terrace and give shelter against bad weather, so as to use the café/restaurant service with no worries about rain or wind.

Considering that the sun is very harsh in the early afternoon, and that the club is facing south, 7 SCREENY roller awnings were added into VEGA’s profiles, to filter the light until dusk and create a sheltered area for customers.

KE’s Gennius VEGA pergola stands out for its minimalist, light lines – the structure was integrated perfectly and easily in the club’s typical Mediterranean style.

Gennius VEGA – covered with a Serge Ferrari 602 blackout fabric in a mat white shade – features a unique motorized movement. The aluminium structure was designed with RAL 9010 mat white and Inver black covers – integrated with LED lights on its fabric-carrying crossbars.

Thanks to its simple design and versatility, Gennius VEGA is the perfect solution to offer elegance and shelter in public areas and contract businesses – such as hotels, cafés, swimming pools, beach resorts, etc.
